Getting to Costa Rica & where to stay Most major airlines serve Costa Rica, to both the cities of San Jose and Liberia, Most airlines will arrive later in the day, making a local airline connection the same day not possible. Denver’s Frontier Airlines has a flight that will get you there early enough to connect all in one day. San Jose
is a
fun city and has plenty to do with many tour operators. A new casino and Denny’s restaurant are across the street Most people will fly into San Jose and either rent a car or fly to the beach. If you opt to fly, there are two local airlines, Sansa and Nature Air, with several flights a day to Nosara. Rental
cars are available in the terminal at the San Jose airport and can meet you at the airport
in Nosara. Liberia is closer to Nosara,
about 2 hours drive time, and boasts a new airport. Airfare is typically higher for Liberia (LIB) than San Jose (SJO).
